– Citizen reporter
Award-winning South African rapper Yanga Chief is making a comeback with the release of his latest single, My Baby.
The track marks his re-entry into the music scene, delivering a fresh sound that showcases his evolution as an artist, while remaining true to himself with his Xhosa rap cadence.
My Baby is a candid glimpse into Yanga Chief’s personal and professional journey during his time away. The single, with introspective lyrics on a laid back beat, is testament to his growth and multifaceted talents.
Yanga Chief shared the inspiration behind the song, saying: “My Baby is an actual conversation I’ve been having with those closest to me.
“Everybody seems to be asking me what I have been up to, and I’ve been working. I have adopted a razor-sharp focus in my other business interests, and I’m at a point where I can say music is what I do for fun.”
During his hiatus, he gained experiences that have influenced his perspective.
He said: “I’m blessed to have fans that enjoy the music I make, and I will always put out the best quality for them. That’s another thing I’ve learnt in business. The customer is king.”
